After the war, she met her husband while working nights at Peoples Drugstore on Bladensburg Rd. and they married in Washington DC in 1950. In later years, Pauline was employed in sales at Britts, Montgomery Ward and The Hecht Co in Annapolis, MD where she was honored as top salesperson many times and made many special friends. Pauline will be remembered most for her beautiful blue eyes, her competitive and lighthearted spirit, her devotion and loyalty to family and work as well as her unwavering can-do attitude. Throughout her life, she was an avid reader, accomplished cook, lover of gospel and country music, nature and wildlife, gardening, walking, creative writing and any activity shared with loved ones. She prided herself on being an independent, smart, resourceful country girl who could kill a snake or bake a cake. She kept her wicked sense of humor until the end and was so grateful for her blessed life even with all its challenges. A Private Service Will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Chatham, VA, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband who predeceased her in 2007.
