Obituary for Victor Lindberg Aaron

CHATHAM,

Victor Lindberg “Lindy” Aaron, Sr., age 90, of Chatham, entered into rest on December 23, 2017 at SOVAH Health Danville.

He was born on September 8, 1927, in Danville, the son of the late Matthew Lafayette Aaron, Sr. and the late Grace Woodall Aaron. He was married to the late Nancy Easley Aaron.

He was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army in occupied Germany. He owned and operated Lindy’s Store in Callands for over 30 years and loved baseball. He led a life of service to his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by three daughters, Martha (Cabell, Jr.) Nelson of Woodbridge, Grace Aaron of Chapel Hill, NC, and Mary Ellen Blosser of Glen Allen; two sons, Victor (Marie) Aaron, Jr. of New York, NY and Vincent Aaron of Chatham; six grandchildren, Cabell (Heather) Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Meredith Nelson, Victor Aaron, III, Vera Aaron, and Christian Blosser; two great-grandchildren, Xavier Nelson and Abigail Nelson; and one sister, Leone Plyborn.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at Hollywood Baptist Church on Friday December 29, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Terry C. St. John, Rev. Haywood Alcorn, and Rev. Darrell T. Campbell. officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Thursday December 28, 2017 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Hollywood Baptist Church Building Fund, 6405 Callands Rd. Chatham, VA 24531.
