Obituary for Montie Wayne Heath
CHATHAM,
Montie Wayne Heath, age 69, of 4661 Irish Rd. Chatham, VA, entered into rest on January 16, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on October 9, 1948, the son of the late Claude Durand Heath and the late Elizabeth Wood Heath Myers. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah Gibson Heath, who survives.
He was a member and Elder of Salem Church of Christ and worked at Goodyear for 32 years. He was a jack of all trades who loved farming and raising beef cows. Montie also loved old tractors, fast cars, RVing, and especially people.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Will Heath; one daughter, Monica Strange; six grandchildren, Liam Strange, Andrew Terry, Trista Bailey, Sadie Powell, Hunter Wyatt, and Briitney Wyatt; two brothers, Joseph (Doris) Heath and James (Barbara) Heath; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, William Alexander Heath; and his step-father, Robert Myers.
Funeral services will be conducted at Salem Church of Christ on Friday January 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm by his brothers-in-law, Donald Reynolds and Ronnie Cannon.
Burial will follow at Dame Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 4661 Irish Rd. Chatham, VA.
