Obituary for Nancy Allen Meadows

CHATHAM,

Nancy Allen Meadows, of Chatham, passed away on June 18, 2018 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Harry Edward Allen and the late Ada Shelton Allen and is survived by her husband, Hunt Allen Meadows.

She graduated from Climax High School and Phillips Business College in Lynchburg. Nancy was employed with the Department of Agriculture (ASCS) for 36 years. She was a member of Chatham Presbyterian Church, The Henry Corbin Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century, The Rawley Martin Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, The Thomas Carter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Maude Clement Garden Club.

The family is grateful for the support of the many family and friends during her illness.

She is survived by many nieces and other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Mike Allen and Edward Allen; a sister, Alice A. Floyd; and a nephew, Jerry Floyd.

Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home on Thursday June 21, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence, 121 Whittle St. Chatham, VA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Chatham Volunteer Fire Department or to the Java Fire Department.
