The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Elizabeth Evans can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

I met Libby in Chatham at the Soda Shop in 1959, for I was a new cadet at HMA (age 14). I immediately knew I would marry her one day and have children. The jukebox was playing loudly, and Rock & Roll was in the air. A lot of water passed underneath the bridge of time, but love won. Caroline and April are here and very much with us today. Regrettably and too early, my daughters and their great half-brother Cooper, had the unfortunate duty to attend to her final affairs at Scott Funeral Home. I talked with Ken Scott today (my friend and teammate at HMA) who lives in Richmond, VA. He as well as all the people of Chatham remember Elizabeth and the Norman family. Elizabeth was special and highly gifted. May she Rest in Peace. Lance Newby.
