Shirley Robertson Clay, age 78, of 5188 Mount View Rd. Danville, VA, entered into rest on August 19, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was born on February 18, 1940, in Danville, the daughter of the late Dink Stover Robertson and the late Lois Newby Robertson. She was married to the late Grover Dodson Clay.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Haley (Richard) Nostrandt of Chatham and Donna Clay of Dry Fork; one son, James Haley of Chatham; seven grandchildren, Becky Haley, Brittany Haley, Jonathan Nostrandt, Stephanie Shelton, Jennifer Walker, Brandon Rose, and Forrest Rose; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Haley; a great-grandchild, Mikayla Childress; four sisters; and two brothers.

The family will receive friends at Open Bible Baptist Church on Thursday August 23, 2018 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence of her daughter, 2249 Tightsqueeze Rd. Chatham.
