The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Shorter can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: James Clark
Condolence: I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. When someone we love dies, it’s natural to want to see that person again. Many have found comfort in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection.

Notice what John 5:28, 29 says, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."

God gives us such a meaningful hope to look forward to. And in the meantime he also promises us to comfort us in our trials if we go to him in prayer. 2 Cor 1:3 calls him the God of all comfort.

I hope this was comforting to y'all. Please go to jw.org for more information. Have a nice day.

Condolence: To the family of Mr. Shorter My heart and prayers go out to all of you. Mr. Shorter was my friend. I saw him everyday, sometimes 2 or 3 times. He walked with me at The Community Center, I waited on his table at Kim's Kitchen and we would buy lottery tickets together at 57 Superette. I am really going to miss him. I loved listening to his stories about the war. I will just miss him.
