CHATHAM,
Franklin Walter Marling, IV, age 66, of 252 North Main St. Chatham, VA, entered into rest on November 29, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on October 18, 1952, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Franklin Walter Marling, III, and the late Louise Tolley Marling.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Weitzel Marling.
He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and worked for the railroad for 47 years. He was a member of Pittsylvania Lodge No. 24 AF&AM and was a Shriner. He loved playing cards and Yahtzee with his wife Cheryl and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ashley Louise (Joshua) Morse; two step-daughters, Sarah Bennett and Jessica Bennet; two step-sons, Corry West and Larry West; three sisters, Francis Faller, Carol Morse, and Patricia Marling; several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home on Sunday December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Saturday December 1, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence, 252 North Main St. Chatham, VA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Shriners or St. Jude’s.
