Obituary for Gloria Taylor Shelton

VIRGINIA BEACH,
Gloria (Roxie) Taylor Shelton, age 85, formerly of Chatham, entered
into rest on February 14, 2019.
Gloria was born in Danville, the daughter of the late Adolphus L. Taylor and the late Lena Moore Taylor. She was also predeceased by her sister, Gladys Shields, and her husband of more than 60 years, Ira M. Shelton.
Gloria retired after 35 years with C&P/Verizon Telephone Co.
Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Gloria is survived by her son, Sonny Shelton and wife Cecile of Virginia Beach; her daughter, Donna Lutz and husband Richard of Leesburg; a brother-in-law, Ryland Shelton of Chatham; grandchildren, Kristi Evans and husband Lynn of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephanie Stephens
of Virginia Beach, great-grandchildren, Landon Evans of Myrtle Beach, SC, Naadia Stephens of Virginia Beach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home in Chatham, on Monday February 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Lamarr Mooneyham officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Gloria's name to a charity of choice.
The family would like to thank The Tabernacle in Danville, friends, family and all of those who have provided loving care for both Gloria and Ira over the years.
