Obituary for Leland Mitchell Lawrence



CHATHAM,

Leland Mitchell Lawrence, age 98, of 10976 Anderson Mill Rd. Chatham, VA, entered into rest on July 4, 2019 at Chatham Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on October 1, 1920, in Pittsylvania County, the son of the late Jim Lawrence and the late Abby Adkins Lawrence.

He was married to the late Janet Jefferson Lawrence.

He was a member of Museville Christian Church and was a deputy with the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Peters; a grandson, Dwight Krantz; two sisters, Kitty Lawrence and Linda King; and a brother, Randolph Lawrence.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hylton Lawrence, Leroy Lawrence, J.E. Lawrence, and Wayne Lawrence.

Funeral services will be conducted at Museville Christian Church on Sunday July 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Lawrence-Adkins Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Saturday July 6, 2019 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence, 10976 Anderson Mill Rd. Chatham, VA.
