CHATHAM,
Alyne Adkins Shelton, age 84, of Chatham, entered into rest on August 10, 2019 at Gretna Health Care Center.

She was born on August 7, 1935, in Pittsylvania County, the daughter of the late Rufus Howard Adkins and the late Janie Tucker White.

She was married to the late Oscar Shelton.

Mrs. Shelton was retired from Ennis. She loved the Lord. She enjoyed animals, sewing and quilting, gardening, and especially spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Howard Junior 'Buddy" Shelton and his wife Lana, Leonard Wayne Shelton and his wife Diane, and Ronnie Shelton and his wife Debbie; two daughters, Betty Hedrick and her husband Carlton, and Janice Gregory; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shelby Jean Adkins.

Graveside services will be conducted at Hillcrest Burial Park on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ricky Hogan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 4521 Halifax Rd. Chatham, VA 24531.
