Obituary for Carson Anderson Dalton



CHATHAM,

Carson Anderson Dalton, age 89, of 1645 Chalk Level Rd. Chatham, VA, died unto Christ on May 29, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on December 3, 1927, in Pittsylvania County, the son of the late Otha Petrice Dalton and the late Gracie Crowder Dalton. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean Worsham Dalton.

He served his country in the US Navy. Carson worked for Transcontinental Gas Company and pastored churches for 30 years in Va. He served as a Gideon prior to entering the pastoral ministry. He leaves a legacy of love of God, family, friends and service to others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Teresa D. Easley and Carolyn D. (David) Helms; two sons, David C. (Nancy) Dalton and Steven G. (Tarin) Dalton; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel D. Lewis; and two brothers, James Dalton and Earl T. Dalton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha D. Shelton; and brothers, Kenneth P. Dalton, Wilbur D. Dalton, and Abner D. Dalton.

Funeral services will be conducted at Chatham Baptist Church on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Charles Warnock III and Rev. Dr. David Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence, 1645 Chalk Level Rd. Chatham, VA.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International, PO Box 971, Chatham Virginia 24531. The Dalton family expresses deep appreciation for the compassionate care received from caregiver Patricia Poole and Commonwealth Hospice.
