Obituary for Robert Wayne Shanaberger

CHATHAM,

Robert Wayne Shanaberger, age 77, of Chatham, entered into rest on March 3, 2018 at SOVAH Health in Danville.

He was born on August 20, 1940, in Berlin, PA, the son of the late Robert Worth Shanaberger and the late Genieve Dickey Shanaberger. He was married to the late June Towler Shanaberger.

He was a longtime Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 346 in Chatham.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy S. (Marvin) Bryant of Chatham and Leigh Shanaberger of Greensboro, NC; one son, Todd (Katie) Shanaberger of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Jessica (David) Husar, Austin Shanaberger, Maxton Shanaberger, Ian Shanaberger, and Lainey Shanaberger; one brother, Larry (Martha) Shanaberger; and three sisters, Carol (Mike) Blanks, Kathy (Bobby) Brightwell, and Cheryl (Bob) Hasson.

Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Jeff Shanaberger and Rev. Frank Fuller officiating.

Burial will follow at Craddock Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Monday March 5, 2018 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence of Cindy and Marvin Bryant, 2325 Anderson Mill Rd. Chatham, VA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
