My Sweet Aunt Nancy
My Aunt Nancy and my own mother reminded me of each other. Many, many times, I found myself at her home in Virginia during my school boy days, playing with my cousins, her sons, Randy and Brian. It was as if I was in the care of my own mother, yet quite wonderfully, I had BROTHERS to play, and make mischief with, instead a puny sister who was four years younger than myself! Oh The JOY!!! (Sorry Lynda, that's just the way it was.) My Aunt Nancy lovingly prepared our meals, and made sure that we did not actually carry out any pirate executions. I seem to recall us attaching a board somehow, to something, as it was partially suspended over a puddle, perfect for having some poor victim "Walk The Plank". I am most certain my aunt curtailed the torture of the youngest of we "Three Musketeers", Brian, as perpetrated and lead by my myself, and Randy being my trusted assistant!!!! Yet, she did NOT spoil our fun too much. She had that loving way about her, that the greatest of moms and aunts have. As I remember her today, I see this strong Christian woman, very pretty, very affectionate, very generous of herself to everyone. She was the sort of person who makes the rest of us better by emitting so much love all the time, second by second. My dear aunt remained very attentive to my mother's condition, as my mother's health and well being declined. I KNOW she offered much, much prayer to The Lord on my mother's behalf. In the end, I AM A BETTER PERSON, because of the influence that my aunt had on me. Praise The Lord, my Aunt Nancy is now In Glory! Amen
