Obituary for Joan Katransky Jones

CHATHAM,

Joan Christine Katransky Jones, age 81, of 1641 Tightsqueeze Rd. Chatham, VA, entered into rest on March 1, 2018 at SOVAH Health Danville in Danville.

She was born on September 25, 1936, in Perth Amboy, NJ, the daughter of the late Michael W. Katransky and the late Christine Bialecki Katransky. She was married to the late James William "Jim" Jones.

She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Keith Jones; two daughters, Kathleen Jones and Karen Jones (Robert) Woodard; five grandchildren, Noelle (Seth) Jones-Allen, Christa (Christopher) Jones-Conway, Billy Woodard, Robert (Amanda) Woodard, and Calla Rae (Brandon) Woodard; one great-grandchild, Marley Woodard; and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Marie Jones and one brother, Michael Katransky.

Funeral services will be conducted at Concord Methodist Church on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Monday March 5, 2018 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence, 1641 Tightsqueeze Rd. Chatham, VA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Concord United Methodist Church.
